会议背景介绍：

The International Association for Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology (IAPTC&B), founded in 1963, with over 2,000 members in more than 85 countries, is the largest, oldest, and most comprehensive international professional organization in the field of plant tissue culture and biotechnology. The mission of the IAPTC&B is to promote research in all aspects of basic and applied plant tissue culture and biotechnology through its publications and scientific conferences.

For over four decades, the quadrennial IAPTC&B congress have provided scientific leadership and served as a major international forum for the exchange of scientific information and professional interaction.

The world acreage devoted to transgenic crops continues to increase, and the genetically improved plants are being commercially produced in different parts of the world and used for human and animal food. The Congress thus provided a timely and unique opportunity not only to celebrate and showcase the numerous impressive achievements of plant biotechnology but also to consider the many promising new concepts and opportunities.

With the assistance of the Executive Committee of the IAPTC&B, the International, National and Local Advisory Committees, and many prominent friends of the IAPTC&B, we have developed a truly world-class scientific program for the 11t
