Second Annual Meeting for Beijing High-end Tourism & Meetings Industry Alliance (BHTMIA)

Over 160 Delegates from Beijing-based High-end Tourism enterprises, council member organizations as well as subordinate members attached to Beijing High-end Tourism and Meetings Industry Alliance attended this annual conference, during which Ms. Wang Yue--Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, delivered a speech and presented trophies and credentials to award-wining organizations.


According to the presentations of Ms. Wang Yue, Beijing high-end MICE industry has already planted roots in the international conference community. Considering the data issued by ICCA, Beijing Municipality has risen to No. 10 globally in terms of number of international conferences held, and was second to none nationally. Meanwhile, by the caliber of rankings in Asia-Pacific region, Beijing has climbed to No. 2, only next to Singapore, which signals that Beijing has joined the pool of most dynamic destinations for international conferences.


Beijing High-end Tourism and Meetings Industry Alliance was initiated and established by Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development with an aim at building a high-end tourism service system which dedicated to ensuring enterprises inside the Beijing high-end tourism system are inter-connected, while external ones are partners sharing common goals, while striving for respective economic benefits. Ever since its establishment in December 2012, Beijing High-end Tourism and Meetings Industry Alliance has contributed a lot to enhance the cohesion of Beijing MICE industry, and attract more and more national and international conferences that have been held in Beijing. Up to now, its members has reached 157, including government departments in charge of tourism, MICE companies, MICE venues, MICE sponsors, MICE education organizations, MICE technological enterprises, and the like.


As Mr. Wang Yue pointed out, of all sectors in Beijing tourism industry, high-end tourism industry with tourism and meetings being its core had enjoyed the rapidest development. And it is without any doubt that all enterprises and institutions¡ªbackbone in support of Beijing high-end tourism development, had played due roles since its foundation. Beijing, as a destination city, has been giving increasing attention by a whole lot of international organizations and enterprises.

 

otably, this annual conference also made an effort to brainstorm aspects as trends for Beijing¡¯s MICE development, taxation reform & MICE industry, Beijing MICE organizations, Beijing high-end tourism website, and so on. The year 2012 is the first year to put into practice preferential policies for MICE industry. Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development selected and unveiled programs that had won Annual Award for Beijing Meetings and Conferences 2012, according to Beijing Meetings and Conferences Award Fund Management.
